Noch mehr Ratsherren

Und hier sind drei weitere Ratsherren.
Wie man ja unverkennbar sieht, waren ihre Anzüge durchweg schwarz und statt Cravate oder Stock trugen sie Beffchen. Wir gehen davon aus, dass sie das als Akademiker ausweisen sollte (für das heutige Auge sehen sie halt aus wie Pfarrer)
Was man auf den Bildern nicht so gut erkennt, ist dass die Westen fast alle aus einem gemusterten Stoff sind, wahrscheinlich eine Art Seidendamast oder Drouget. Eine wunderbare Quelle für sowas ist uns schon genannt worden ( http://www.durantextile.com/ ) aber da müssen wir wohl noch ein bisschen sparen... vorerst wird also nur der Rock genäht.

Das Ratsherrenprojekt

Wie ich schon geschrieben habe, braucht mein liebster Gatte einen neuen Anzug für seine Rolle als Ratsherr einer freien Reichsstadt.

Der Just-au-corps ist schon begonnen und ich habe auch jeden Schritt fotografisch dokumentiert damit ich demnächst eine umfangreiche Anleitung schreiben kann.

Nun aber erst zu den Inspirationen. Wir haben letzte Woche die damalige freie Reichsstadt Schwäbisch Hall besucht (übrigens eine sehr schöne Stadt, die eine Reise wert ist). Dort haben wir im stadtgeschichtlichen Museum jede Menge Bilder gemacht unter anderem auch von Gemälden von Ratsherren. Hier sind schon einmal zwei, mehr werden folgen:

Ich brauche deffiniv so ein Kleid!!! Nun hab ich mir aber eigentlich vorgenommen so wenig wie möglich neue Stoffe zu kaufen und hätte da noch was rumzuliegen, glaubt ihr ich könnte diesen Tilda-Stoff für ein Kleid in der Art missbrauchen? Oder würde das total am Stil des Kleides vorbeigehen? I bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass ich einen Stoff finden könnte der dem Original sehr nahe kommt aber naja... ich hab's halt versprochen...

I deffinitely need such a dress!!! But, well I have decided to buy as little new fabric as possible and I have this Tilda-Fabric here, do you think I could misuse it for a dress like this? Or would this ignore the style of the dress completely? I'm shure I could find a fabric alike the original one, but well... I promised....

Projects for 2011

I hope you all had a good start into 2011!
As I have neglected this blog so much in the last time "more blogging" will be one of my projects for the new year ;)

My first project will be a new 1760's suit for my hubby. He needs it for his new living-history-character, a councilman of an imperial city. He already has a black culotte but needs a black Justaucorps and a rich waistcoat. I have begun to make some silver bobbinlace for this waistcoat but I do not know if it will work well.
Our other big project will be a wardrobe for 1811. We will have two events set in 1811 this year, so it's worth to sew some stuff for it.
A frock and a coat for my hubby and a dress, a coat and of course a very big bonnett for me.

For the dress I already have a model. It needed to be something non-white, because I will have to wear it in a village-museum which is always muddy. I want to realize it in a thin woolen fabric, so that it is a bit warmer than cotton.

An other thing I have in mind is a small 1910-wardrobe for me, but I don't know if I will have the time to realize this and it is uncertain if I will be able to attend the event I intend it for. But anyway I think that one can easily wear this styles today. I especially like this painting and would like to sew the dress on the right.
