I took this pic in the garden of Schwetzingen, where we had a promenade and visited a concert in the Rococo-Theatre.

Not quite finished...

He has no boots yet (that's why he's wearing his breeches instead of the pantaloons) and no broch to close the shirt. But here are the first few pics:

Gillet à la Nelson von gedrucktem Musseline

Finally here is the first part of the "Fashionprint-Project". The whole suit is almost finished, but we are still waiting for the boots and seaching for the brooch, so there are no pics of the finished ensemble.

So, here I will tell about how we made the waitcoat. The description says that it is a "waitcoat à la Nelson, of printed musslin, bordered with a black velvet band all arround".

As it seemed to be impossible to get a similar fabric, we decided to make them ourselves. I choose to use fabricpaint from the craftstore, making paint according to a period recipie seemed to be to complicated to me...

At first I thought it would be best to create the triangles by stamping them, but with my selfmade stamp of foamed rubber it looked like that stuff I made in the kindergarden ;)

Than I had the perfect idea: I just did tape all the forms with crepe-tape ( I don't know the propper english term) and did amplify them. You have to let the paint dry quite long, to avoied any blur.

the clothes are almost finished, no we are searching for the brooch and let have made the boots.

More Renaissance-Stuff

After a long pause I now can show you what I have made these last weeks. The castle which ordered the female renaissance-costume did also order a male one. My tailyor's dummy isn't quite the right size, but I think the pictures give an idea how it will look when worn.

Renaissance Gown

My latest comission, a gown for an interpreter of a lady's maid arround 1600. who gives guided tours in a castle. I made it after a painting from Vincenzo Campi: http://www.wga.hu/art/c/campi/vincenzo/marymart.jpg
My tailors-dummy is bigger than the lady who will wear it, so the gap in the center front will not be so wide.
I added a stomacher because I thougt that she could feel too "naked" without.

Mein neuester Auftrag, ein Kleid für eine Schlossführerin die eine Zofe aus der Zeit um 1600 darstellen soll. Meine Vorlage war dieses Gemälde von Vincezo Campi:

Meine Schneiderpuppe ist einiges dicker als die Dame die das Kleid tragen wird, bei ihr wird vorne keine so große Lücke sein. Ich habe einen Stecker hinzugefügt, damit sie sich nicht so "nackt" fühlt.

I recently finished this 18th century mittens, which I knitted after Mara Riley's e-pattern http://www.marariley.net/patterns.htm
It is quite easy to make (if you have a bit of knitting experience) and they fit me very good.
